What you'll need to succeed
In order to be considered for the position, you will need a planning degree or equivalent, along with licentiate membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute. Successful candidates are expected to have significant planning experience, some of which should have been gained in a planning policy environment. Furthermore, excellent working knowledge of current planning legislation and practice is essential, especially in relation to local plans and neighbourhood planning.

Provision of specialist EIA advice to external and internal contacts;
Assisting the Planning Team on large projects (including DCOs) , providing town planning advice/support;

Job requirements
Candidates should be a chartered membership of the RTPI and hold an RTPI accredited town planning qualification at Masters level, a RICS accredited qualification (planning & development route) and/or IEMA (or similar) accredited. Candidates are most likely to have a background in Planning and EIA, however candidates with different degrees but relevant experience may be considered.
Candidates must demonstrate a very high level of technical competency, and quality of work, carried out with minimal supervision, together with good analytical, communication, interpersonal, and writing skills. The role will require working on a number of projects, so a proven ability to manage your own time and workload within tight timescales, and ability to problem solve is critical. You may also have specialist EIA topic skills/interests.
