Gower College Swansea’s mission is to inspire and support our learners to achieve their full potential through the delivery of the highest quality of education and training.
The College is a further education institution created in 2010 following the merger of Swansea College and Gorseinon College. Thanks to our highly committed and talented staff, we are able to provide outstanding learning and training opportunities for young people, adults and employers across South West Wales.
We offer over 40 A Level subjects and 40 vocational subject choices at a range of levels up to and including Higher Education, that match our students’ existing knowledge and skills levels. This is coupled with one of the strongest reputations for high quality teaching and learning, not just in Swansea but across the whole of Wales.
We have over 4,500 full time and 10,000 part time learners from across Swansea and the neighbouring counties. We operate from six locations across the Swansea including campuses at Tycoch, Sketty and Gorseinon. With our extensive provision of work based learning operating out of our premises in Jubilee Court, Fforestfach.
Gower College has a number of new and exciting Estates Capital projects upcoming and this role will be responsible for ensuring that these projects are delivered on time and within budget. Liaising with college staff, students and contractors throughout the projects lifecycle you will be responsible for successful delivery of projects to facilitate better learning environments for our students.
Candidates must be professionally qualified and have an HNC, HND or degree in a construction related discipline with at least 5 years’ experience in a similar role. You must have sound commercial awareness and knowledge of building technology and construction principles. Excellent communication skills, organisational skills and project management skills are essential and experience of capital projects greater than £10m would be desirable.
