This role would suit a Quantity Surveyor who is actively involved at procurement stages of projects but would like to focus solely on materials / plant procurement and on occasion sub-contract packages. The role requires excellent communication internally with Pre-construction, Commercial and Operational teams along with strong negotiation skills with suppliers and sub-contractors. This role is critical to the success of overall projects within the business and will see you play a vital role within a growing organisation. Key Requirements: Commercial background ideally trained in Quantity Surveying 5 years experience within Main Contracting Experience of Procurement on projects Track record of cost saving on projectsCore Duties: Drafting and managing the process flows and procedures where required for procurement processes. Liaise with QS/Cost management and Project Management on material types and availability for projects especially bespoke materials, long lead times and high value items which may impact costings of projects. Review BOMs and site requirements for awarded contracts Review mobilisation requirements with other members of construction team, finalise requirements and issue Purchase Orders. Review material and plant requirements, costs and delivery periods. Manage inspection and checking of materials when delivered to site. Manage keeping of 'on-hire' log for all hired plant and equipment. Review and confirm on going need with site management. This role could turn permanent for the right candidate. Your role will be to coordinate the estimating function of the team, reviewing project drawings and specifications, determining project requirement and producing detailed, accurate quantity and costing schedules. Experience in a similar role is essential. Excellent salary and benefits. Main duties and responsibilities will include the following: * Review project drawings and accurately identify areas that require company products * Liaise with appropriate technical managers to agree appropriate sub structure design * Create accurate take-offs with dimensions and collate them into summarised documents for pricing * Use CAD to create accurate design layouts for decking areas that can be submitted to the client to facilitate accurate installation * Produce a basic Gross Profit analysis for larger projects as required Require for this role: * Proficient in Excel and knowledge of CAD would be a huge advantage * Broad understanding of construction drawings and methods * Accurate and methodical eye for detail * Able to work for tight deadlines and pressure * Previous experience in a construction related estimating team * Able to communicate technical numbers and details clearly * Quick learner and a hunger for success * Flexibility to work in a fluid environment * This role is home based so only candidates with the relevant experience will be considered * There may be some requirement in the future to travel to Milton Keynes on occassions If this sounds like you please do not hesitate to contact me to discuss further. Main duties and responsibilities will include the following: * Review project drawings and accurately identify areas that require company products * Liaise with appropriate technical managers to agree appropriate sub structure design * Create accurate take-offs with dimensions and collate them into summarised documents for pricing * Use CAD to create accurate design layouts for decking areas that can be submitted to the client to facilitate accurate installation * Produce a basic Gross Profit analysis for larger projects as required Require for this role: * Proficient in Excel and knowledge of CAD would be a huge advantage * Broad understanding of construction drawings and methods * Accurate and methodical eye for detail * Able to work for tight deadlines and pressure * Previous experience in a construction related estimating team * Able to communicate technical numbers and details clearly * Quick learner and a hunger for success * Flexibility to work in a fluid environment * This role is home based so only candidates with the relevant experience will be considered * There may be some requirement in the future to travel to Milton Keynes on occassions If this sounds like you please do not hesitate to contact me to discuss further.
