The focus of this role will be carrying out pre inspections in occupied properties, diagnosis of building defects, recommending the appropriate course of action, working with the in-house team and external contractors to remedy property defects effectively and to a high standard. The Quantity Surveyor role: As a Quantity Surveyor within our Capital works division, you will actively tender, estimate and measure onsite. Specifically, you will: Measure and prepare cost estimates for contracts and tenders, highlighting any risks and solutions for mitigating these. Prepare budget cost value reconciliations, identifying commercial risks and opportunities to ensure correct contract planning from the beginning. Work closely with the Contracts Manager to ensure productivity targets and contract milestones are agreed and issued before contract start, including direct labour incentives. Build strong client and supplier relations, to ensure any variations and the progress of contracts are discussed and resolved proactively. Take purchase, credit and debtor responsibility using COINS to achieve expected cash flow. Complete and analyse weekly reporting from site has adequate cost information (including labour rates and performance exceptional to budget, value, progress, quality, and safety) Produce monthly contract valuations. Our client based in Cheltenham is looking to add a Window and Door Installer to their team. This role is an urgent requirement and we can assure all applicants that we are taking all of the necessary precautions to recruit for this post safely through current Covid-19 situation.
Our client have established themselves as market leaders and innovators in aluminium
and PVCu windows and doors in the Midlands and South West and are entering the next phase of their expansion.
This role will be for both the domestic and commercial departments fitting aluminium and PVCu windows, doors, curtain wall façades, commercial screens and roof lanterns. Projects include replacement and new build installations generally within an hour's travelling of Cheltenham.
Ideally we are looking for candidates who have previous fitting experience and qualifications such as CSCS, MTC, PASMA and IPAF are desirable. However, we are happy to accept applications from any trades people who are looking to change direction in their career. Training will be provided to achieve the qualifications required for the right candidate.
We are only looking for candidates who are able to demonstrate that they can work to very high standards, who are well presented and who are able to work on their own initiative.
In return our client will offer excellent rates of pay, a fully equipped van, work wear & PPE, a 40 hour working week plus overtime and a company pension scheme (subject to a qualifying period). This is permanent employed position with all the benefits of working for an established and well reputed company.
