- Produce and process formal subcontract documents and certify interim and final payments and final subcontract account
- Evaluate, discuss and raise any Variation orders as required for additional works
- Prepare quotations for Client variations and monitor from submission to approval
- Assist management in efficiently dealing with any potential contractual claims
- Monitor and control income and expenditure on contracts e.g. interim/final applications for payment/final accounts/payments for late monies etc. liaising where necessary with the relevant people
- Produce relevant monthly reports for the Commercial Director e.g. cost and value comparisons, turnover forecasts etc. ensuring information is complete and accurate
- Assist with producing cash flow forecasts for internal and client purposes
- Contribute to and attend financial and progress meetings with Clients, subcontractors or internal meetings as required.
- Provide advice and support to the site team in order to optimise the use of contract resources
- Give feedback to Estimators and Contracts Managers with regard to contract pricing, projected profit/loss, pricing omissions etc.
- Take ownership of projects, with assistance from a QS or Commercial Director, including placing of orders, monitoring costs, dealing direct with the client on variations and taking the project to final account.

Here’s What You’ll Need:
The Estimator is responsible for aiding in the development of construction cost estimates covering all phases and cost elements of multi disciplined construction projects. This involves the development and owenrship of the estimate plan, contributing to the detailed development of the multi-disciplined construction estimate, developing the estimate basis and contributing to estimate reviews with the estimating lead and senior management.
The main responsibilities are;

Qualifications & Experience:

* Compile Site Start budget, liaising with all Departments to ensure document is completed on time to allow the construction to commence, and Sales to start marketing
* Lead the value engineering, including updating Group and Regional site review documents, to ensure we achieve best value
* Maintain budget control throughout development; and manage cost overruns within contingency levels
* Complete accurate costing for each aspect of site development
* Analyse and report on costs and cash flow using the support systems available
* Prepare tenders and procure sub-contractors, goods and materials, using Group Procedures

* Liaise with site personnel and subcontractors in order to maximise productivity

To be successful in the role, we are looking for:
Qualified to HND level or higher with a valid CSCS card

Prepare preliminaries in conjunction with delivery teams
Involvement in the selection of proposed subcontractors/suppliers
Manage the tender/cost plan process
Advise on alternative options and value engineering
Identify and assess risk and opportunity
Attend quote/tender interviews/meetings with clients
Continually liaise with other relevant depts and site teams for feedback on subcontractors
Develop and maintain internal/external relationships
Requirements;
Fit Out experience – high end/large scale (upwards of £10m) experience would be a huge bonus
Ideally working in a range of different sectors
Broad knowledge of pricing Fit Out works including M&E
Minimum five years in similar role
Good understanding of contract documentation and potential risk
Ability to use estimating software
ONC or equivalent in construction related subject

The role of the Sales Estimator – Roofing & Cladding will involve:
* Sales estimator position promoting the installation of roofing and cladding solutions, focusing on the single ply division
* Estimating in support of bids and proposals
* Handling enquiries and preparing budgets with main contractors, cladding contractor, roofing contractors, architects, clients, quantity surveyors and façade and roofing contractors
* Validating contract costs and estimating workloads
* Receiving tender enquiries and producing general take-offs to create quotations and estimates
* Obtain raw material costs by liaising with suppliers
* Preparation and issuing of formal quotations to customers
* Prioritise own workload to ensure customers’ deadlines are met
* Provide costing support to projects team on successful bids
* Occasional visits to customer sites
The ideal applicant will be a Sales Estimator – Roofing & Cladding with:
* Ideally have 5+ years’ experience as a project sales estimator within the flat roofing, single ply, façade, roofing or building envelope related experience
* OR be a colleague / university graduate that has studied a construction related qualification looking for their first step into the industry
* Ideally have the Ability to read architectural drawings
* Excellent planning and organisational skills
* Ideally related qualification in construction, engineering, manufacturing or surveying
* Ability to manage all elements of estimating and quoting to ensure customer satisfaction
