Are you a Package Manager looking for Long Term Freelance work on a Major Civils Scheme in Birmingham?
My client, an HS2 Principal Contractor, is looking to recruit a Package Manager to join the HS2 scheme in the Birmingham Area on a 2 year+ contract. You will be managing the Building Services packages covering design, supply, factory testing, installation, commissioning and hand-over scope.
Responsibilities:
Prepare the scope of works of the packages
Involve actively in the procurement by reviewing the tenders and assessing the offers of potential suppliers/subcontractors
Manage the subcontracted works for the relevant packages and Ensure the compliance with Project requirements
Monitor the design, procurement, manufacturing, testing, delivery and site works progress of the packages
Coordinate all required package interfaces and Lead the regular meetings with the Designer, Procurement, Commercial, Logistic, Construction and Suppliers/Subcontractors
Anticipate any major issue related to the packages, in terms of Safety, Quality and Performance requirementsSkills and Qualifications:
BSc or MSc Degree, ideally in Building Services, Mechanical, or Electrical or experience equivalent with professional chartership
Experience of delivering of multi-discipline turn-key projects
Experience in water industry or railway transport systems
Ability to work under pressure

We are currently recruiting an experienced Project Manager for one of our Clients who is a leading UK Rail contractor working on a number of rail related projects across the area.
This would suit someone from a Civil Engineering background and with previous Rail experience. Our Client is a multi-disciplined Civil Engineering Contractor delivering projects that are time and safety critical within the Rail industry.
This is an excellent opportunity to lead a project team on a Rail project. The role will include day to day project management duties on site where you will have a site team reporting directly to you. The role will involve the management of site activity, programming work and resources, health, safety and environmental planning and monitoring, client and sub-contractor liaison and reporting on project progress to the project teams. You will also have to liaise with the Client and attend regular meetings regarding progress and issues etc. The successful candidate will be the main site contact and reporting into the Contracts Manager. You will also ensure that the project teams carry out the works to a high quality standard in a safe manner and to agreed timescales whilst maintaining profitability and ensuring that all incidents/accidents and near misses are reported correctly.
Knowledge & Experience:
• Strong knowledge of Civil engineering within Rail
• Rail Experience
• Experience of Project Delivery
• Ability to liaise with the Client, Engineers, Estimators and Surveyors
• Degree Qualified
• Proficient using Microsoft Office – Word, Outlook and Excel
• Knowledge of method statements and risk assessments
• Valid CSCS Card
• Knowledge of Health & Safety Procedures, Management Systems and Quality Assurance Procedures.
