The role of the Operations Manager Flat Roof Skylights & Rooflights will involve:
* Working for a highly accredited designer and manufacturer of high quality skylights
* Working closely with our client’s Operations Director on both high end residential and commercial projects
* Assisting in the management of sales to architects and building contractors
* Managing the process and relationships with manufacturing, design and installation teams
* Managing glazing and aluminium supplier relationships
* Responsible for construction site and factory visits
* Reading technical drawings
* Working towards goals to make the business more efficient (pivotal role for our client having recently streamlined some senior management positions)
* Solving issues that may occur such as; installations on construction sites or manufacturing problems at the factory
* Contract management
* Work planning and scheduling
The ideal applicant will be an Operations Manager Flat Roof Skylights & Rooflights with:
* Proven track record in operations management
* Manufacturing & design knowledge
* Building products industry experience
* Ideally used to working with architects and building contractors
* Ability to read technical drawings
* Some electronics knowledge preferred
* Design background not essential but may be useful
* Comfortable with construction site and factory visits
* Excellent communication skills
* CSCS qualification preferred

Our client is a Tier 1 automotive supplier based in the West Midlands. They are now looking for a Manufacturing Manager as the current post holder has been offered a promotion.
We are looking for an experienced candidate who has experience in coordinating, scheduling and managing the workshop staff and activities to ensure products are manufactured, delivered and installed to customer specifications and quality in a cost effective and timely manner.
KEY ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
You will manage the manufacturing team including mentoring and developing staff
You must have experience in managing and developing workflow, workshop practices and housekeeping
You will be charged with managing project installations on customer sites
The incumbent will ensure resources are used efficiently through continuous improvement
Previous experience in planning, managing, updating and delivering on time, within budget and to customers specification
You will also identify and communicate potential bottle-necks with the Operations Manager
Set and manage performance targets
Provide input to contract/project review meetings as required
The position will involve travel to suppliers or customer installations.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
HNC/HND or a Degree, appropriate professional or chartered bodies, full clean driving licence.
PREFERRED SKILLS
Workshop management experience is expected
Continuous improvement of workshop practices
Experience/knowledge of bespoke electrical/electronic manufacturing and assembly
Good communication skills and IT literate
A high degree of initiative, resourcefulness and problem-solving skills
Manufacturing management, leadership or equivalent experience
Highly organised, able to plan, manage and deliver challenging projects
Must possess an automotive or electronics background.
