Randstad CPE currently have an exciting opportunity for a Pre-Construction Manager, with civils infrastructure experience, to get involved with a well known main contractor on a permanent basis. This role will be based in the central Scotland, between Glasgow and Edinburgh.
The successful candidate will be required to lead the pre-construction process for the portfolio of infrastructure work in Scotland. This person will have in depth knowledge and understanding of the Scottish construction market, supply chain and civil engineering infrastructure projects as main contractor and be able to demonstrate a track record in successfully estimating, bidding and winning design and build / construct only projects ranging in value between £5m - £100m

Requirements:
* Previous experience should ideally be in civil engineering infrastructure projects ranging in value between £5m and £100m;
* Management of a work winning business unit or bid team(s);
* Bid management responsibility;
* Tendering through estimating / project management role;
* Construction background, familiar with a range of clients operating in Scotland, including Scottish; Government, Local Authorities, Scottish Water, energy companies and private developers;
* Construction related degree;
* Membership of professional body with Chartered status (MICE or equivalent) (Desirable);
* Experience / training in estimating of civil engineering infrastructure projects;
* IT literate in MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Project planning and estimating software;
* Evidence of bid management skills and experience;
* Evidence of estimating skills and experience;
* Construction planning;
* Design co-ordination;
* Bid writing;
* Detailed knowledge of the Scottish construction market;
* Comprehensive understanding of the principals of construction law;
* Commercially astute and able to gain competitive advantage;
* Team player with collaborative behaviours;
* Ability to manage and develop teams;
