THE PROJECT
A Strategic Working Alliance (SWA) between MWH Treatment and J. Murphy and Sons Limited has been created to deliver future works under AMP 7 for United Utilities as Advance Plus.
Advance Plus has been awarded two geographical batches of work across the North and South West with a combined value in excess of £500million over a five-year period.
Advance Plus has been collaboratively working to secure AMP 7 work since January 2019. The first contract award for two batches in the North were received in August 2019 with further awards expected thereafter.

THE PROJECT
A Strategic Working Alliance (SWA) between MWH Treatment and J. Murphy and Sons Limited has been created to deliver future works under AMP 7 for United Utilities as Advance Plus.
Advance Plus has been awarded two geographical batches of work across the North and South West with a combined value in excess of £500million over a five-year period.
Advance Plus has been collaboratively working to secure AMP 7 work since January 2019. The first contract award for two batches in the North were received in August 2019 with further awards expected thereafter.

Murphy are recruiting a site based Commercial manager to lead the delivery of the North Bristol Sewer Relief project. Worth £40 million and due to be completed in Autumn 2021. You will have experience delivering a heavy civils project of similar value for a tier 1 contractor.
As Commercial manager you will be responsible for the commercial delivery of the overall project. You will manage and develop a team of Quantity Surveyors and manage the client and other internal stakeholders.
THE PROJECT
Murphy have been awarded the contract by Wessex water to deliver the construction of a 6.5km pipeline to connect the sewer in Lawrence Weston to the Frome Valley relief sewer near Cribbs Causeway.
The pipeline will direct waste more efficiently around North Bristol to our water recycling centre in Avonmouth. The project will last approx. 3 years and is worth c.£40 million.
The majority of the pipeline will be dug using a tunnel boring machine which negates the use of trenches. The tunnel will go under the M5 and various national rail services and our presence will not be felt by infrastructure above ground.

The Role:

The Role:
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Engineer to join one of the UK's leading consultancies on a permanent basis. The Engineer will be joining a large established team in the Midlands region and will ideally have a solid background working in a similar role for nationally recognized main contractors. Residential - infrastructure experience is key.
Responsibilities:
- The Engineer will be required to provide technical support to the development of residential infrastructure projects.
- Attend site and design meetings when required.
- Effective Liaison with clients, architects, awarded contractors and authorities.
- Undertake scheme development, detailed designs and project coordination.
Requirements:
- BEng or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering.
- Strong ability to design Section 104, 278 and 38 highway adoption projects.
- Accomplished in AutoCAD, WinDES and PDS or equivalent design software such as Civils 3D or MXROAD.
- Must have experience working within either a design office environment or housing developer.
- Experience of working with Severn Trent Water or local water authorities such as Anglian Water.
- Drainage and pavement design knowledge essential.
- Must have knowledge of earthwork analysis calculations on residential schemes.
- Minimum 5 years post qualification experience.
