Looking for an experienced Ecologist to support the Somerset Ecology Service in their delivery of advice to Local Planning Authority partners.
The ideal candidates will be able to comment on planning applications, to ensure that National and Local Policy is considered as well be other appropriate legislation. they should be capable of undertaking Ecological Impact Assessments if necessary, in accordance with the appropriate Regulations.
There may be a need to undertake field survey work and/or interpret data that is provided from such activities.
They will be required to maintain accurate records of activities and monitor information on occasion.

Develop and maintain company knowledge in appeals, LPA decisions, judicial decisions and legislative updates.
Monitoring appeals within the Local Authority Areas.
To act as the main point of contact for liaison with third party consultants (architects, tree consultants, ecologists, etc), planning in visits and ensuring reports are received in a timely manner.
