Permanent Construction Civil Engineer Management QA-Quality Control

Job Description

Our client is a medium sized Engineering consultancy based in South Yorkshire and due to increasing workload and ambitions to expand further, they are looking to recruit a Project Co-ordinator / Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join their experienced team. Their expertise and client base is very diverse covering both the Minerals and Waste sector as well as the Construction and House Building industries, and the successful candidate would be expected to assist in a wide range of geotechnical fields, key areas include: * Project Co-ordination and Management of both Phase 1 desk studies, Phase 2 site investigations and Phase 3 site remediation works. * Construction Quality Assurance (CQA) for landfill and other earthworks projects. * Mineral reserve assessments including managing drilling contracts. Experience in one or more of the above is essential. The candidate should also be outgoing and confident and have excellent communication and written skills as they will be responsible for the preparation of quotes, tenders and liaising with customers, sub-contractors and internal staff to ensure the successful completion of projects. The role would be based out of their Sheffield office, but would also involve some site work. Candidates should ideally have a first degree in Civil Engineering or Applied Geology with a geotechnical bias or similar equivalent. MSc in Geotechnical Engineering, or related subject, is desirable and is essential where the first degree is Applied Geology. Additionally, vocational qualifications including CSCS and First Aid would be advantageous
