Senior Quantity Surveyor

Our client is a busy and successful contractor who are working on civil engineering contracts and are looking for a top quality Senior QS for a temp to perm position - 3-6 months through the agency then onto the books for a permanent role.

The successful applicant will be part of the busy commercial team, reporting to the Commercial Manager to assist with a major civil engineering framework. The ideal candidate will have a lot of civils and utilites experience and be willing to work within the team. One key function of the role will be co-ordinate with the contracts team to ensure all paperwork is in place for payment from clients, as will subcontractor management and procurement.

The following duties will potentially be performed:

• Working on civil engineering schemes
• Client facing - the role will involve working to solutions directly with the clients so a background of this is required
• Claims management from the client and subcontractors
• Assisting with the procurement process, ensuring that all stages including pre- qualification, enquiry, analysis, selection and contract preparation are performed effectively
• Cost checking and valuation work
• Production of monthly post-contract cost reports
• Negotiation and agreement of final accounts
