Estimator / Senior Estimator - Warrington
Our client is a leading main contractor active in new build and refurbishment; Social Housing, Education, Healthcare, Industrial, Pharmaceutical, Accommodation (student), Leisure and Retail; Blue Light, Private and Public sector up to £20m in value.
Purpose of the Role:
To assist in providing an estimating and tendering service to meet the Company Budget.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor potential enquiries
Build relationships with Architects, Quantity Surveyors and Competitors
Maintain up-to-date market knowledge of labour, plant, materials and sub-contractors
Prepare & send out sub-contract & material enquiries using conquest enquiry system
Where required produce accurate take-off using Conquest (if outsourced externally - coordinate the information and ensure take off is complete)
Manage, as directed, enquiries for labour, plant, materials and sub-contractors
Price bills/schedules analytically and produce quote comparisons using conquest estimating software
Complete tender pricing for adjudication by the tender committee, including reporting on any risks or onerous conditions, providing a winning edge
Liaise with planner to assess programme & preliminaries
Formulate bid strategy/qualifications
Assist in the training of junior staff

A small but well established Project Management and Cost Consultancy, based in Surrey and the South are seeking an Associate Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team.
Working in a number of key sectors within the industry, including Education, Commercial, and Residential, this Construction Consultancy are well placed to capitalise on their growing reputation.
The successful Associate Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor will be joining an organisation founded on the principle of employing the very best people in the industry.
About the role:
The successful Associate Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for (but not limited to):
* Cost estimating
* Regular reporting to the client
* Facilitating cost control from inception through to completion
* You will be expected to advise on contracts, warranties, professional appointments, and all other legal aspects of projects.
The successful Associate Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor will be joining a Cost Consultancy and will be allocated major projects due to start in January (£20mil+)
There is an expectation that the successful Quantity Surveyor will show the necessary ability to push on to become part of the management team within a relatively short period of time.
About the requirements:
* The successful Associate Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor needs to have experience in managing a range of projects. A mix of public and private would be beneficial.
* A balance of working on new build and refurbishment would be ideal.
* Exceptional client-facing skills are a prerequisite as is the ability to manage projects ranging in value.
* Strong Consultancy experience, preferably with in-depth knowledge of the London market
