The Role
You will be brought in and ‘shown the ropes’ as an Assistant Project Manager, exposed to not only typical Senior Engineer duties, but also Client Management, Programming, Quality and Commercial aspects of Project Management, working in partnership with an experienced Senior Project Management. Day to day duties will include:
Provide overall leadership to Site teams, Supervisors and sub-contractors and labour
Ensure HSQE policies are adhered to in line with client procedures
Oversee technical ‘buildability’ of projects in line with Designers and the client
Provide innovations for Engineering solutions, waste management and training
Mentoring of junior members of staff to assist with their and your career development!
The types of projects will cover a variety of heavy steel structures and miscellaneous metal work across the UK infrastructure sector, predominantly focusing across railway structures with some prestigious Grade 1 and Grade 2 bridges and facades involved! As mentioned there will also be the opportunity to work in other sectors such as highways and Marine schemes.
Required experience
HND or Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
SMSTS & CSCS
Experience in structural steel/fabrication projects within the civil engineering sector
Flexibility to spend 2 days a week travelling to projects UK Wide (remaining 3 days office based in Kent)
