Assistant Site Manager - Main Contractor Milton Keynes Salary Up to £42k depending on experience + car or car allowance A leading Main Contractor is looking for an ambitious and driven Assistant Site Manager to work on a new School construction project in Milton Keynes. Reporting to the Senior Site Manager the successful Assistant Site Manager will assist in delivering the projects safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality. Responsibilities: - To ensure delivery of a quality build in accordance with the project specifications and project requirements - Maintain the highest standards of health, safety and environmental management - Help oversee and manage all site staff consisting of direct and indirect labour - Provide hands on guidance and support where necessary - Attend progress meetings - Ensure high standards of health and safety at all times - Implement project strategies in order to achieve the Company`s sustainability objectives - Establish standards of quality on site and ensure delivery of a quality build in accordance with the project specifications and project requirements - Understand the client priorities and adopt a professional and considerate approach to maintain good working relations - Implement the supply chain policy - Monitor and control operations to achieve the agreed programme; and also monitor the works and supply chain to ensure provision of the right working environment to avoid disruption between trades - Understand the Client priorities and adopt a professional and considerate approach to maintaining good working relations - Undertake the works in the most economic manner to eliminate waste and avoid non recoverable costs and preliminaries losses. Monitor and work to agreed preliminaries budget - Maintain continuous professional development to ensure appropriate technical awareness - Comply with standard procedures - Manage project handover and ensure defect / snag free completion - Support the strategy for the closure of defects during defects period and obtain certificate of Making Good Defects within targets set - Comply with standard procedures. The successful Site Manager will have: - Minimum relevant level 4 qualification (HNC/NVQ4 etc.) or equivalent - Ideally you will come from a main contractor background with some supervisor / site management construction experience and have a solid background in commercial, education or industrial projects - Proven experience of reading and accurately interpreting programmes, drawings and technical specifications - Understanding of build programmes - Appropriate CSCS card - SMSTS certificate - Use of Microsoft suite of Office programmes; incl. Excel, Word, Outlook and Project. In return they offer a competitive salary up to £42k depending on experience along with a car or car allowance and an excellent benefit package.
