Ambitious Site / Section Manager required to work with the team on a £80m scheme to construct a new retirement village near Weybridge in Surrey. Reporting to the Project Manager / Senior Site Manager you will be responsible for managing all site based construction activities for your building / section of works. You will have responsibility for the construction across your building / section, including short-term programming of works, ensuring company health and safety standards achieved, review of method statements, risk assessments, site logistics, quality control, implementation of inspection and test plans, client liaison, coordination meetings, reporting on progress against programmes, issue resolution, etc, snagging and handover.

The role is with the busy regional Hampshire office of this leading national contractor with a proven track record in the successful delivery of projects ranging from £15m to £50m in the commercial, higher education, luxury retirement, industrial, MOD and MOJ sectors. Geographical patch focus is Surrey, Berkshire, Hampshire.
Workload is secured on a mixture of national and regional frameworks, competitive tenders plus negotiated works with repeat clients. Turnover for the region is circa £90m to £110m, with a high percentage already secured for next year.
With an excellent reputation for training, development, and the opportunity for progression within the business, the business has a very low turnover of staff, and long term career employees in key management and director positions.
Requirements including certificates and qualifications:

You will ideally come from a construction management, engineering or trades background, be educated to degree level or similar NVQ level, with a sharp eye for detail and quality throughout. The scheme in secured with demolition and enabling works commencing shortly, and main works due to commence later in the year. The project duration is in excess of 2 years to phased handovers in 2022/3. This is a very high specification scheme for a luxury retirement home provider.
New build construction will be predominantly RC framed blocks and traditional residential buildings to provide apartments in multiple locations within the grounds.
Reporting to the Project Director and Project Manager you will be responsible for managing all site based construction activities for your building/s through your site team, comprising Site and Section Managers. You will have overall responsibility for the construction across your buildings, including long and short-term programming of works, ensuring company health and safety standards achieved, review of method statements, risk assessments, site logistics, quality control, implementation of inspection and test plans, client liaison, coordination meetings, reporting on progress against programmes, issue resolution, etc, snagging and handover.
You be responsible for some ongoing management, training and development of your Site/Section Managers.
At the same time, you will be a key part of the senior management team on site, and ideally be demonstrating the potential for future progression toward the PM role.
