Our client are a well established mechanical, air conditioning and electrical installation contractor who generally work for main contractor's and end users on multi-disciplined turnkey projects within the building services sector, typically in the commercial, education and retail fields.
The selected candidate for the Mechanical Design Manager will be responsible for the design, tendering and cost control of multimillion pounds mechanical and electrical projects. They will lead a design team overlooking the entire process of the individual projects from the concept stage, through the design development and value engineering options.
The Mechanical design manager will also be responsible for the production of Revit/CAD drawings, technical submissions, final delivery quality control.
An essential part of the role in involves liaising with clients, consultants, architects, suppliers and sub-contractors, so good communication skills are essential.
It is expected that the suitable candidate will have significant expertise in HVAC systems, Controls, DX splits, Public Health services, VRV, Chilled water systems, heat recovery ventilation, fan coils, fire suppression, close control cooling and air supply and extract, amongst other areas.

Mechanical Design Manager - Permanent - Birmingham - circa £50,000 salary
AndersElite are recruiting for a Mechanical Design Manager based in the Birmingham area.
This is a permanent role available from July / August 2020 and would suit an experienced building services professional, mechanically biased, ideally holding a HNC or HND Building Services Engineering, with a strong background working for contractors as well as consultancies.
Our client are a well established mechanical, air conditioning and electrical installation contractor who generally work for main contractor's and end users on multi-disciplined turnkey projects within the building services sector, typically in the commercial, education and retail fields.
The selected candidate for the Mechanical Design Manager will be responsible for the design, tendering and cost control of multimillion pounds mechanical and electrical projects. They will lead a design team overlooking the entire process of the individual projects from the concept stage, through the design development and value engineering options.
The Mechanical design manager will also be responsible for the production of Revit/CAD drawings, technical submissions, final delivery quality control.
An essential part of the role in involves liaising with clients, consultants, architects, suppliers and sub-contractors, so good communication skills are essential.
It is expected that the suitable candidate will have significant expertise in HVAC systems, Controls, DX splits, Public Health services, VRV, Chilled water systems, heat recovery ventilation, fan coils, fire suppression, close control cooling and air supply and extract, amongst other areas.
In order to apply for this role you should have relevant industry experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer or Design Manager, with a good working knowledge of Autocad and Revit technologies. You should have design skills in heat load calculations and ventilation.
Salary offered is circa £48,000-£50,000 per annum although this is negotiable depending on experience and could be increased for the right candidate. In addition to basic salary our client offers a company car, laptop, mobile phone, pension scheme and 25 days holiday plus bank holidays.

The role will predominately involve the service/maintenance, fault finding and repair of air conditioning systems including splits, VRF/VRV across all manufacturers but mainly Daikin & Mitsubishi equipment, AHU’s, chillers and ASHPs.
