You will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of void and tenanted properties, dealing with all aspects of internal/external repairs including kitchen re-fits and repairing UPVC doors and windows. What you'll need to succeed You will need to be a highly skilled, conscientious and friendly multi trader who is hardworking and carries their work out to the highest standard. You will need City and Guilds/NVQ qualifications or will be qualified by experience. Have excellent people and communication skills delivering excellent customer service, have experience of domestic maintenance works and to be fully competent using a hand held mobile device as you will manage your jobs through this. In addition to carpentry you will have skills and experience in plumbing, painting/decorating and groundworks. Site Manager for nationwide fit out contractor My client, a nationwide fit out specialist contractor, situated on the M1 corridor are currently recruiting a Site Manager to join their expanding team. Role Overview Reporting to the Contracts Managers, the primary function of the position is to manage all fit out projects on - site, liaising with the Contracts Manager, Client, Sub-Contractors and other trades, co-ordinating all aspects of the works so that the project is completed to the highest standards in line with the specification, within budget and on time. Have a good commercial understanding of the project and represent the company in a professional and proactive manner in all dealings with those associated with, and affected by, the fit out project Responsibilities Work closely with the contracts manager to plan the project effectively, by ensuring that the project requirements, specification, design drawings, health and safety proposals are all read, understood and agreed. Set up a secure site, including access and egress. Control Health & Safety on site and carry out daily inspections keeping records on file. Formulate a material schedule for the project, including take offs from issued drawings and specifications, and produce internal orders as far ahead of programme requirements to enable best prices to be obtained by the purchasing department. Work closely with the contracts manager to ensure that labour resourcing is line with commercial and programme requirements. Maintain labour records daily, keep records on file and copy weekly to the contracts manager and accounts dept. Maintain first aid facilities, ensuring that there is a first aid area and that first aid stocks and equipment are adequate for the project. Ensure safety to public, site visitors and staff at all times, ensuring that preventative measures are taken, including PPE, following all safety instructions form the Health & Safety manager. Supervise and manage all site based operatives, overseeing all aspects of their work, to include :- Carrying out site inductions; tool box talks; controlling quality of work; ensure all trades have method statements on site prior to starting work and have read and understand them; maintain a clean and tidy site; monitor use of hire equipment and tools; monitor use of PPE Liaise daily with the contracts manager Experience/Background Substantial experience in retail fit out projects, involving the supervision of the project and the staff working on it.
