Are you a passionate Graduate Building Services Engineer, looking for an exciting new role?
Coulter Elite Resourcing are currently looking for two Graduate Building Services Engineer's to work with one of their well-established and very successful clients based in Northampton. This will be one engineer that is electrically biased and another mechanically biased to support with upcoming projects.
This is an important position reporting to the associate director and your role will be to provide a consistent high level of electrical/mechanical engineering consultancy services to all projects as allocated. As a graduate building services engineer you will be expected to be involved in all aspects in building services engineering including, design calculations, drawing production, sketches and specification writing.
The successful candidate will have proven design experience of delivering high quality projects on time and to budget. This role is well suited to an enthusiastic, self-motivated engineer who is looking for an opportunity to advance and progress their career.
Principle Responsibilities for the Graduate Building Services Engineer:-
Receive client design briefs, understand and develop design works.
Produce specifications, schedules, drawings and any other contract documentation required on a project by project basis.
Develop design calculations.
Attend progress, design team, and site inspection meetings.
Conduct condition surveys and dilapidation surveys.
Ensure design works are coordinated with the design programme.
Obtain relevant information from architects, structural engineers and other design consultants for the scheme to process.
Liaise with clients, professional organisations, contractors as required to facilitate the needs of the project.
Identify and meet effectively the requirements and expectations of the clients.Person specification:-
Experience in electrical or mechanical building services design, this should include specification writing, calculations, and system design.
A proven record of having worked on a variety of building services projects through numerous sectors.
A highly motivated individual focused on working in a team to achieve a common goal.
Excellent report writing skills.
Minimum HNC/D preferably degree level in electrical or building services orientated subjects.
Excellent communications skills
Good written skills with attention to detail
Able to make decisions, act on own initiative and operate in a pro-active way.This is a full time permanent Graduate Building Services Engineer, Monday to Friday 9am-5pm, offering an annual salary of between £20-£32k p.a. based on experience and skillset, plus annual company benefits.

Identify and meet effectively the requirements and expectations of the clients.Person specification:-
Experience in electrical or mechanical building services design, this should include specification writing, calculations, and system design.
A proven record of having worked on a variety of building services projects through numerous sectors.
A highly motivated individual focused on working in a team to achieve a common goal.
Excellent report writing skills.
Minimum HNC/D preferably degree level in electrical or building services orientated subjects.
Excellent communications skills
Good written skills with attention to detail

Night work (installation) will include:
Installing pre manufactured outstations onto air handling units
Each panel runs on a cat 5 network cable pulled into a new patch panel in the warehouse, this then is patched back to the main heating panel for communication with the bms system
We have to install a D.O.L starter to interrupt the feed to the fan motor which will be switched from the outstation, this also has trip detection which will notify the bms if the overload has tripped out
Measure any dampers that are faulty and record any faults on a check sheet at the end of each outstation installationWe will cover any hotel costs with a daily food allowance + 12p per mile to cover fuel expenses (if travelling over 1.5 hours)

Increased workload has opened up a position for a Mechanical CAD / Revit Technician to join their design team.
Your new role
As part of the in house mechanical design team, you will be required to work closely with design engineers and project managers, creating high quality mechanical services drawings from engineer's designs in AutoCAD and Revit MEP. This will involve drafting Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and public services onto architectural drawings in 2D and 3D. Coordination of M&E services will also be required.
You will work on a wide range of design & build and refurbishment projects including; warehouses/distribution centres, schools, office blocks, student accommodation and apartment blocks.
What you'll need to succeed
AutoCAD and Revit MEP experience essential
At least 2 years working in a building services consultancy or contractor
Experience producing mechanical services (HVAC) drawings in 2D & 3D
Coordination of MEP services
Navisworks and clash detection experience desirable
